Read on to find out more about gum disease, and how it can be overcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are the signs of gum disease?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bleeding when brushing or flossing your teeth, or red\/swollen\u00a0gums are two of the biggest telltale signs of gum disease. The first stage of gum disease is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.citydentists.co.nz\/dental-blog\/oral-health-wellbeing\/what-do-you-need-to-know-about-gingivitis\/\">known as gingivitis<\/a>, which is also the most common.<\/p>\n<p>Should gingivitis be left untreated, it can lead to periodontitis, which is a more severe form of gum disease. Symptoms of periodontitis include halitosis (bad breath), pus between the teeth, and tender gums.
