Sedation Dentistry

Are you in desperate need of dental care, but too afraid to go to the dentist? Are you facing extensive treatment which you cannot face without being "out"?
… You are not alone.  For our patients who need that extra help to relax, we offer Sedation Dentistry.

With Sedation you can relax

Conscious sedation is a technique in which a sedative medication (similar to Valium) is injected into a vein in the arm, to help relax a patient that is anxious. The medication leaves people fully alert and able to respond to questions. (That's why the process is called conscious sedation.)

It is a good technique for patients that have mild to moderate anxiety or fear of dental procedures. This technique is also advisable for adult patients undergoing surgical extraction or who require a great deal of dental treatment and wish to have more treatment completed in fewer visits. Our experienced team will make you completely comfortable, and will monitor you closely while you are under sedation. Patients treated with conscious sedation usually have little to no memory of the dental procedure being performed.

What types of procedures can be performed with sedation dentistry?

Virtually any dental procedure can be performed while the patient is under the effects of sedation.  Many patients feel that time flies, reduced fatigue and deep relaxation.  Dental work that could require multiple visits can be combined into one relaxing visit for the patient.  Sedation dentistry also benefits the dentist, in that the procedures can be done is a very efficient manner.
